Cafe Doodle

Last week I started a new etching on what seems to be a huge amount of area for me – a 8″ x 10″ plate. Above is a proof of the first state with some pencil lines of what I’m going to do with the next line etch. Afterwards the tone will be laid down with soft ground and maybe a hint of aquatint. My line work is very fine so I’m finding that my line etch times are extended to get the foundation set properly.

The traveling moleskine with drink and Gnomic Nolte in Austin – James’ front porch…thank you James!
Next destination: North Carolina…

I used to really love the smaller Moleskines that came in the 3-pack — but as you can see the downside is that the pages are thin, and a mere few years later — the images are transferring through to the next page. It’s an interesting effect but a production nightmare!

Book No. 2 is preparing for its trip to Austin today! For the full details you can check out the *NEW* Moleskine section on the site here. You can check out Liz’s work also by going here. Meanwhile I’m headed to the art store today to get more notebooks since Book No. 3 is headed out to North Carolina and Book No. 4 will be going to Boston later this week. I’m looking for both artists and writers for the project. If you want to be part of it – please contact me at cheapgirldraws at yahoo dot com
Cheers!

Well after a few false starts – my site has been moved and is using WordPress as my new platform! You can still find the previous sites by visiting my 2007-2008 blog and my even older blog here.
